When the Night Falls

by Glenn Rolfe

Rolfe brings his A-game with this excellent follow up to UNTIL SUMMER COMES AROUND. Reminiscent of vintage paperbacks from the early 80s, Rolfe brings his reader back into his world with a heavy dose of heart and horror on every page.

A Fun Fall Read.

In the Shadows Where The Boys Used To Play

by Paul Carro

Paul Carro is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. In this short novella, Carro throws the reader into a tragic story of hope, hate, fear and redemption. His version of Hell will linger in your mind long after the story is done. Despite the heavy material, Carro brings horror with heart and that is one of my favorite things about Carro’s style and something that he does very well.

Highly recommended for your TBR!

A House At The Bottom Of A Lake

by Josh Malerman

Malerman is a household name by now and this book is no exception as to why. I love a haunted house story, and who doesn’t love a good coming of age story? Malerman takes those ideas and combines them into a tale of love, discovery, fear and fate. Beautifully written and wonderfully human, this one will be a favorite to re-read on chilly winter nights by a fire.

Highly Recommended!

Fear of Clowns: A Horror Anthology.

Edited by Kenneth W. Cain.

Anthologies can incredible things when done correctly and this one is no exception. Edited by Kenneth W. Cain, Fear of Clowns gathers the horror genres’ top authors into one fantastic volume that is a must read for this year, and every year after. Every story was superb but some standouts for me were the stories by Jonathan Janz, Red Lagoe, Rachel Harrison, and Aron Beauregard.

Stellar Read-strongly recommend!
