Back this week with two more reviews. One was fantastically done on Audible; The House at Phantom Park by Graham Masterson. The second is a chilling small-town horror story from author Kevin Lucia, The Horror at Pleasant Brook.
Both are excellent reads. Check them out today!
The House at Phantom Park
By Graham Masterson
This may be my favorite book from Graham Masterson so far. I have not yet read half of his works, but this one is right in my top five. I love a haunted house tale, and this one delivers on all levels. I listened to this on Audible and the story is absolutely terrifying.
Set in modern times, in an old mansion turned military hospital, it focuses on the contractor that is assigned to redesign the building into luxury apartments. Before she can even get proper inspections completed, strange events begin to happen, strange and horrifying events. As more people get pulled into the mystery, a tragic tale begins to unfold leading to a horrifyingly beautifully sad ending.
Absolutely recommend. 5 stars.

THE HORROR AT PLEASANT BROOK
by Kevin Lucia
What happens when something evil invades a small town, hell-bent on destroying everything in its path? Kevin Lucia may soon be called the Stephen King of the new generation of writers. The Horror at Pleasant Brook is a well-written small-town horror story that will consume the reader within its pages.
Lucia places you squarely in Pleasant Brook, immersing you in the town and the horror as its spreads, not only letting you read the story but making you part of it. I have experienced this feeling with few writers, King, first and foremost. Now, I add Kevin Lucia to that list.
5 stars.
